Finds

This is something I found a while back that I thought I would share with you.

This awesome cook book was only $3 at an antique store. It looks brand new.

These are envelopes for storing recipes in.

It even has some old recipes in it. How cool is that?

And We're Back

I know it's been a while (4 months yikes!) but I'm finally back on the wagon. I started a new job in August and things have been really been crazy. Now that the holidays are over I feel like I can get back to normal. I'm hoping to have some great new vintage finds sometime this week. So stay tuned.

I went out to the ranch today where I keep my horses. This was the view I had on my way home. I love winter on the prairie.

I have been spending a lot more time out there because I got a new horse for Christmas. Her name is Copper and she is just about to turn 4. I'm so excited to see how awesome she is going to become.

Hello cute little girl! You are going to do great things, I just know it!

Mom's Table

This table was from my mGrandfather's house. It has been sitting in the barn for a while and I walk tell my mom that she should re-uholster the chairs. And that is exactly what she did this week in prepration for our first sale. She even made a matching table runner and napkins. How cute is this

Born in a Barn Sale Preview

I know it's been a while since my last post. However, I do have a good excuse. We have been finishing the basement, having carpet put in, and I started a new job. I have also been up to some craftyness. My good friend Rachel and I have been working hard getting things ready for our sale this weekend. It is going to be at Colbert Chapel from 8-4 on Friday & Saturday. Come and see us, but in the mean time here is a little preview of what I have been working on with more to come tomorrow.

Basement and Beyond

Someday our basement will be done. I took these pictures about a week ago. It looks much nicer now with the fire place tiled. However, it has taken 7 months to get this far. I had to threaten my husband back in May with a serious melt dow/freak out if the dry wall did not get put up. So after I called the dry wall guy, it got done. And then nothing....for several months. Finally, 2 weeks ago I made him go look at tile. We settled on some really cool slate and bought it. Then it took another week and a half to get his buddy to come help with the tile. Carpet is going in next week in the basement and in the living room. I'm so excited to show you all the pictures when it's done!

I also scored this sweet sewing desk a few weeks ago at a yard sale. What color do you think I should paint it?

Then this yard sale was just down the street from my house. They were selling all kinds of things. Turns out the lady is the owner of Market Street Antiques. One of my favorite places to go. I didn't pick up anything here but I did see some cool things.
