Basement and Beyond

Someday our basement will be done. I took these pictures about a week ago. It looks much nicer now with the fire place tiled. However, it has taken 7 months to get this far. I had to threaten my husband back in May with a serious melt dow/freak out if the dry wall did not get put up. So after I called the dry wall guy, it got done. And then nothing....for several months. Finally, 2 weeks ago I made him go look at tile. We settled on some really cool slate and bought it. Then it took another week and a half to get his buddy to come help with the tile. Carpet is going in next week in the basement and in the living room. I'm so excited to show you all the pictures when it's done!

I also scored this sweet sewing desk a few weeks ago at a yard sale. What color do you think I should paint it?

Then this yard sale was just down the street from my house. They were selling all kinds of things. Turns out the lady is the owner of Market Street Antiques. One of my favorite places to go. I didn't pick up anything here but I did see some cool things.

Vintage Barn

Today Jessica, Amanda, Rachael & I journied to beautiful north Idaho to the little town of Rathdrum. Our destination was the Vintage Barn antique show. Despite the temperature being in the 90's we had a great time and found some amazing things.

Vintage Barn 1-Favorite Vender: Parson's Place

We meet Sheryl, Jessica, Katie at an antique show/flee market in Spokane earlier this year. They were so glad that we liked their stuff there because they were the only ones selling anything remotely chic. We went crazy over their stuff and bought quite a few things. Well, today we were really excited to see them at The Vintage Barn because they had been out on the waiting list. Once again they had some really cute things and we could not resist making a few purchases.

Vintage Barn 2

Here are some super fun things we found on our junking spree.

These are all charms. How cute are these?

I just love how cute these girls were dressed.

This silly lady decided that Amanda needed this clip for her baby belly.

Vintage Barn 3

I picked up this cute little shelf for $18. It has wooden wheels and everything. I think I'm going to use it for my office/crafting space.

This chalk board is so true. How many times have you passed on an item and then decided it was what you wanted and when you went back to get it, it was gone?

So so cute. These are just vintage awesomeness.

We go to listen to the Bluegrass Stylings of The North Idaho Hat Band

How cute is Dean and Rolane Hopper's front porch? Hopefully someday I will have a porch like this.

Deck Garden

I have been growing veggies for the first time and it is going well. Tim and I made some awesome Pico de Gayo. I would have taken a picture of it but it didn't last more than an hour out at the lake. My peppers are looking good.

I also got my first cut off my lavender bushes. Anyone need some?

A Saturday of Junking

On Saturday Rachael and I went junking at some of our favorite places and a few new ones too. We found some great stuff. Her friend Lindsay also joined us and made the day even more fun and silly.

I think I'm going to make this into some tea towels for my kitchen, or kitchen curtains, or...?

This basket was too cool to pass up. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it yet but I will let you know. I do know that I won't be doing any more scratching of the glove box in my husband's new car with it. Ooops.

No don't get excited I'm not pregnant. I saw this a Value Village and it was sooooo cheap that I had to but it. I think I'm going to paint it yellow and try to sell it. Or maybe red...I don't know.

This was a really interesting piece. First of all I talked the vendor down 15 dollars so then I had to buy it. It is an old set of stamps for pricing items. Kind of nifty uh? I'm thinking it would be good for scrap booking, collages, or pricing this for a sale.

All in all the day was a success! We were out for 5 hours but it sure didn't feel like it. I guess time flies when you are hanging out with some cool chicks and laughing the whole time.
