I Fancy Myself a Baker

I have wanted to learn how to decorate a cake for a long time. A few years ago my mom said that I could choose a class as my Christmas present. So...I finally got my act together and I'm taking one this month at Carolyn's. They do such a wonderful job and I'm having so much fun. This is my first cake.



Not too bad for the first one I thought. There was no way that I could have that at my house for any period of time. I don't need to nor do I want to have to try and eat it. I know my husband would have helped but still...it was a no go. So I took it to work. And then it disappeared.

Now that I see this I think that i"m going to have to repaint my desk that is just like this. My husband is going to be so excited that I have another painting project.

This is something I found a while back that I thought I would share with you.




This awesome cook book was only $3 at an antique store. It looks brand new.


These are envelopes for storing recipes in.


It even has some old recipes in it. How cool is that?

And We're Back

I know it's been a while (4 months yikes!) but I'm finally back on the wagon. I started a new job in August and things have been really been crazy. Now that the holidays are over I feel like I can get back to normal. I'm hoping to have some great new vintage finds sometime this week. So stay tuned.

I went out to the ranch today where I keep my horses. This was the view I had on my way home. I love winter on the prairie.





I have been spending a lot more time out there because I got a new horse for Christmas. Her name is Copper and she is just about to turn 4. I'm so excited to see how awesome she is going to become.

Mom's Table

This table was from my mGrandfather's house. It has been sitting in the barn for a while and I walk tell my mom that she should re-uholster the chairs. And that is exactly what she did this week in prepration for our first sale. She even made a matching table runner and napkins. How cute is this
